Who's behind the Project
I’m Mikah Villalba, the founder and creative vision of SPAL.

I am, admittedly, an obsessive cinephile. I’m the kind of person who analyzes lighting ratios in casual conversation and who knows every single frame of Back to the Future by heart. This isn't just trivia; it’s the foundation of my craft.
Movies like that taught me that time is precious, details matter, and great stories don't just happen—they are intentionally framed. This obsession with cinematic storytelling is the engine of my photography. When I look through the lens in the streets of Seville, I don’t see a photo shoot; I see a scene waiting to be directed.
I bring that discipline of cinema—the precise use of light, the intentional composition, and the search for genuine emotion—to every session. My goal is to ensure your images don’t just look like photographs, but feel like timeless stills from your own personal film.

"I believe that your time in Seville deserves more than a standard digital record. At SPAL, my work is driven by the cinematic gaze- a commitment to capturing life with the depth, texture, and soul of a classic film.
By using hand-picked vintage lenses, I achieve a soft, organic rendering that modern optics simply cannot replicate. My signature style is rooted in the warm, nostalgic palettes of the Mediterranean, ensuring that every frame feels like a curated piece of art. I am not here to pose you; I am here to document your connection to this ancient city through a lens of timeless elegance."
